The open as well as closed cell one configuration are available among the folic kites. Getting Essential Beginners Surfing Skills

By Damian Papworth

Surfing is one of the most popular sports done in water because it is a lot of fun as well as being a challenging and fulfilling individual sport. Surfing is more than just a sport to those who practice it, it is a way of life. To get the most out of the sport though you do have to develop some surfing skills.

To be a good surfer you have to have enough power in your upper body and shoulders to be able to propel the board through the water to catch waves. To do this you might have to work on developing your upper body strength through doing a series of weights. Lots of surfers also turn to yoga as a way or building strength as well as balance. Balance is an essential part of being a good surfer and you will develop the muscle memory as you practice until you can easily stand on the board.

Being able to read the beach conditions is also an important thing for surfers to know what to do. Since most beaches are unsupervised, it is important that you know when conditions are safe for you and when they are not. One of the most dangerous things on the beach is a rip. This is a leading cause of drownings on beaches, but it is also something that many surfers use to get them out the back of the waves more quickly and easily.

A rip is a channel or current of water that has landed on the shore and is now traveling back out. Surfers use a rip current to pull them out the back of the waves more quickly and easily. You can spot a rip when you see a section near the waves are breaking that does not have waves. It is usually darker than the other water because it is deeper or it can also be filled with churned and sandy water.

To get to the point where you can catch waves you have to be able to get the board out the back of where the waves break. To do this you will first have to learn the eskimo roll and after that a more developed skill is duck diving.

There are some basic skills that you will have to develop in order to be able to surf and find it enjoyable rather than frustrating. Some of these skills include paddling, catching waves and then standing up smoothly on the board. Directing the board comes later when you have the basics down pat.

When you have got some of the basic surfing skills down pat, you will really start to have fun with the sport and learn something new every time you head out. - 31512

Choosing Carp Boilie Ingredients For Great Homemade Baits!

By Tim Richardson

When catching more big carp is your goal it is vital you understand as much as possible about your fish and how they detect bait substances and how to use them to ensure fish want your baits again and again exploiting their own senses and behaviours against them to make them much easier to catch! It seems that when it comes to asking questions about bait, the majority of carp anglers today begin with questions about flavours, ingredients and so on without considering the fact that the true power is in understanding what carp are most sensitive to and why, and how to exploit this knowledge in bait-making to maximum effects! When you realise how much potential power you have over less knowledgeable more ignorant anglers by understanding vital aspects of fish senses, behaviours, substances sensitivities

So in the beginning when considering bait at all, why start of with bait itself at all when it is far more productive by starting off with taking a much better look at the fish?! Relatively very few anglers understand carp in detail so it is no surprise they have little idea how their baits might possibly work to attract fish to take baited hooks inside their mouths. But when you understand this and the power this provides you with to use against competing anglers with little or no knowledge or insight regarding this incredibly vital aspect of fishing you will be truly amazed!

When speaking to many fellow anglers in researching for my ebooks it was clear that the vast majority are dependent on expensive ready made boilies and pellets. When anglers are dependent on ready made baits they are completely at the mercy of others to decide their bait modes of action and competitiveness over other baits, and cost; which is not necessarily an ideal situation to be in. When you are dependent upon ready made baits instead of producing your own, your bait budget is to a very large extent decided by the pricing of ready made baits.

So set your own bait budget, cut your costs in advance and not let someone else decide you're spending for you - and save yourself a genuine fortune! Ready made baits cost so much each year or even per fishing session that undercutting these costs by making your own potent baits is very easy. Of course knowing significant details of things like how and why fish behave in the presence of substances they are sensitive to and so on, and how to exploit such things to get fish hooked on your own unique bait recipes repeatedly again and again is extremely productive!

Bait-making beginners can take many short-cuts by learning and avoiding the kinds of commonest mistakes that other bait-making anglers have made and then avoided themselves over the years through their own experience! Over the last 34 years of carp fishing I have had well over 80 percent of my own homemade baits work on many waters even from the first cast. Sure some waters demand bait changes and adjustments to be successful and these days this often is in regards to out-competing other baits as opposed to simply attracting fish!

Using personal preferences, second or third-hand opinions about baits and flavours etc, and most of all, using your human perceptions of bait substances as a guide to bait making is a common mistake of beginners. Why limit the success of your baits by getting personally involved by second-guessing what carp are sensitive to when you can discover all this in advance of making your baits and be certain all your bait substances in whatever combinations will be most effective? Focus on the fish first and you will think like a fish and not an angler (which is a very severely limited perspective!)

Some really great bait substances are not necessarily effective used on their own in water, but work at their peak in synergistic ways alongside other bait substances to produce maximum effects on fish. Certain bait substances can be termed habit-forming and these do not have to be anything exotic or unusual; I would include essential amino acids and certain non-essential acids in this category. So many carp angler have somehow become conditioned to think that if their bait has very little flavours or smells that they can detect that their bait is going to be less effective, but the truth can very easily be the opposite! In terms of linking fish senses and bait tastes, flavours and aromas for instance, carp can sense substances in solution down to just a few parts in a million and detect subtle energy fields in many ways in effect, so including almost any substance in your bait will be detected to some degree even it you cannot smell it or taste it or even if it is supposedly inert in terms of our comparatively extremely dull human senses!

Carp are such highly evolved creatures able to adapt sensitivity to substances, sense completely new substances in water, identify new food sources and monopolise them to their own benefit. You can condition and train carp just the same as dogs by repetition of positive rewards (using new and thus safer baits.) The carp bait substances you choose literally manipulate their behaviours as they influence which hormones production which forms of physical actions; for instance the filter feeding on dissolved bait substances, or movement towards baited areas following concentration gradients, or intensive competitive feeding and repeated bait consumption. Scuba Diving Mask: Find the Best Mask for the Money

By Bryan R. Richardson

One way to prepare a scuba diving mask to prevent fogging is to simply use a few drops of baby shampoo rubbed inside the lens. This is just as effective as as any commercial preparations intended for this purpose, and it is also very inexpensive to use. The time honored tradition to prevent masks from fogging is to spit inside of them, then rub the spit into the lens. This is being discouraged by many instructors, as it can promote black mold growing inside the lens.

When you are purchasing scuba gear for the first time, one of the very first things you should purchase is a quality scuba diving mask. Although you can buy masks from a wide range of retailers, this is not an item you should seek to purchase as cheaply as possible. Invest the time and money necessary to find a high-quality mask that fits properly. Keep in mind that a mask made with safety glass lenses is superior to one made with plastic lenses.

It seems strange that such as basic piece of diving equipment such as a scuba diving mask would have the potential to ruin what would otherwise be a great trip, but it certainly does. Fighting with an ill-fitting mask that leaks and fogs up can quickly turn a great day's dive into a miserable one. Always check the fit of a new mask by putting it on with the strap held loosely around your head, then lean forward and breathe in. The suction created should be enough to hold the mask in place. If not, keep trying on different ones until you find one with a great fit.

If you want to purchase a scuba diving mask that has longevity for use, purchase a good quality mask and take the time to care for it optimally. Don't skimp on your mask purchase, it is just as important or more so than any other piece of diving equipment. A cheap mask that leaks and fogs up is sure to put a damper on your dive trip. Another tip is to always inspect every piece of dive equipment with a fine-tooth comb before you begin packing for your trip. Don't let something as simple as a broken strap on your mask keep you from having a great trip.

When you are diving, you need to protect your eyes from the irritation of salt water, and scuba diving masks are designed just for that purpose. If you are new to diving and wear glasses, you may wonder how you will ever manage without them. The good news is that you don't have to. You can buy masks with prescription lenses that will enable you to see just as well under the water as on the surface.

Caring for your scuba diving mask begins with always storing it in the case provided at the time of its purchase. Doing so will help to keep it safe from dropping and scratches. It also helps to keep the silicone skirt around the lenses in top condition, which is so important to prevent leaks. New masks often come with a protective coating from the factory that needs to be removed prior to use. To remove the coating, simply use a mildly abrasive toothpaste on a soft cloth, and rub it on the lenses. Please do not attempt this step if your mask has plastic lenses; this is for masks with glass lenses only. Make sure to test this on a small area to make sure that it won't cause any scratching. As well, make sure to take the time to rinse your mask in plain water after every use.

One area not to compromise on diving equipment is on your mask and fins. A scuba diving mask composed of high-quality components keeps water out and prevents fogging. As for fins, a good pair of fins will keep your legs from becoming quickly tired. For the mask style that keeps out leaks the best, choose a goggle type with separate lenses for each eye, and also has a silicone skirt to keep out any water. When choosing fins, opt for a closed heel design if you plan on dives of any significant lengths of time. - 31512

Scuba Diving Equipment Explained Simply

By Brett Camron

When it comes to scuba diving the most important thing is the training that you have, the next most important thing to that is the gear that you will need to have. Everything that I will cover here will be essential if you plan on making some deep dives.

Scuba diving masks let you see under the depths of the ocean water, because the deeper you go the darker it gets, and the higher pressure it gets. So when you are shopping for a scuba diving mask do not try and go the easy route and buy the cheapest one that you can find.

Bouyancy compensators air in letting the diver going up, down, or just staying neutral in the water during a dive. They also provide the tank attachment, along with diving gauges and oxygen regulators. For divers they are referred to as a BC, and they are absolutely essential when it comes to diving.

Scuba diving wetsuits will keep the body warm when you are going down on the deep dives, and also provide minimal protection from sharp objects. Most of them are made from neoprene, and the further you dive down the looser the wetsuit will get.

Unless you can hold your breath for a very long time a diver will need a scuba diving tank. Scuba diving tanks supply the oxygen to the regulator hose so that you can breathe under water. You can rent them from dive shops if you are certified or if you have the money you can purchase your own and get it refilled with oxygen at dive shops.

Diving fins will help you swim through the water with ease, because they make more resistance in pressure when you are kicking, causing you to move smoothly through the water. Every scuba diver or snorkeler should have at least one good pair of scuba diving fins.

Diving computers will let you know a large range of data that you need to know when on a dive. Some of the things that dive computers will tell you are water temperature, depth, how much air is in the tank, a decompression meter, how fast you can safely ascent, along with many other things. Dive computers can be worn as a watch or attached to your BC.

Some other types of diving gear you will need are dive flags, ropes and reels, weight belts, underwater cameras, customized dive gauges, knives and gloves. Safety is the main concern when diving and unless you have been through some diving courses you should not attempt to dive anywhere. - 31512

Proper storage and proper protection of your personal watercraft is a good start but Seadoos need regular maintenance as well. Before putting your machine away for the winter you should give your pwc a once over. It is best to fix any problems in the fall before you pull out your seadoo cover and say good bye for the winter.

Make sure the spark plugs are cleaned and change the oil. There is nothing worse for your pwc then sitting all winter with a grimy engine. Make sure the seats and dash are clean and dry. You may want to put some protective Armour All on the dash or another specific seadoo rubber protection compound. Make sure the dials are clean and dry. If you notice a water bubble in a dial now is the time to fix that problem. Your local marina will be able to pop the dial out, dry it off and re-seal it.

In order to properly cover your pwc for storage over the winter, or just an extended period when you won't be using your seadoo, you have to determine the extend of protection that your watercraft requires. For example, if you are going to winter your seadoo, and you are unlucky enough to have to store it outdoors, then finding the best quality weather proof seadoo cover makes the most sense.

If you are only storing your seadoo for a short period, or need to get it ready for storage and you have a storage building or garage available, then your options for covers are a lot more flexible. A lightweight breathable cover will keep your seadoo protected from light and dirt and dust, while allowing it to breathe to prevent moisture build-up which may cause damaging mildew.

I like to choose a cover that matches my seadoo. If I have customized detailing on the engine then I like to have similar customized detailing on my seadoo cover. If I have a recreational seadoo that I leave at the cottage I'm less fussy. However I can tell you, throughout all my years owning personal watercraft, I have never owned one without having some type of cover for it.

Take the time to protect your seadoo with a good quality cover, and get in the habit of developing a good storage routine, and you will be rewarded with a happy pwc that will look brand new longer. And that makes a happy seadoo owner. - 31512

VA Chesapeake Bay Charter Fishing: Add Adventure Into Your Striped Bass Fishing Trip

By B. Williams

Virginia Beach fishing charter businesses are just one of the many resort and adventure type activities available in and around the city of Virginia Beach. The resort city sits at the junction of the waters of the Atlantic Ocean and Chesapeake Bay. The whole area is noted for awesome fishing opportunities, including catching the striped bass trophy fish that weigh as much as fifty pounds.

When you are researching a potential charter fishing trip, be sure to find a boat and crew that is reputable and has the experience to get you to where the trophy-size fish are swimming. The best crews know the fishing waters of the area and know how to get you to the right place where the big catches can be made. The expertise of the charter boat staff is key to the enjoyment of your trip.

You can find wonderful fishing opportunities during the entire calendar year in the waters near Virginia Beach. There are bluefish and flounders nearby and the captain and crew can help you get to where the fish are. If you have special needs or want to go after a certain type of fish, be sure to let the charter boat people know everything necessary to provide you with a wonderful fishing experience.

In the summer months, the most popular fish are tuna, but there are many other types of fish that are plentiful along the coastline as well as out into the deep waters. Modern equipment today allows the captain and crew to view satellite shots to see where the big tunas are. In addition to tuna, charters offer opportunities to go after marlin, sharks, trout and other fish.

During the winter season, you can take a charter fishing trip and go after the twenty to fifty pound striped bass that frequent the southern part of the coast. In December, charter boats will take you to the area around the Bay Bridge Tunnel on the lower part of Chesapeake Bay, where you can fish for trophy sized stripers. In January and February, many of the charters move into Atlantic Ocean waters, still after the big striped bass.

The length of your charter trip is adjustable. Most commonly, trips last for half days, full days or overnight in some boat accommodations. Charter boats usually provide all the needed equipment for a successful fishing trip. The price of your accommodations will vary depending on how long the trip lasts, how experienced the captain and crew are, the distance the boat must travel to get you to good fishing water and what type of fish you are hoping for.

The most important things to consider when choosing the boat that you charter are the crew and equipment. The crew should be experienced and the boat must be up-do-date with all inspections, credentials and licenses present. Safety equipment such as life savers is critical for safe and legal operation of the charger.

You may routinely charter a boat to go out on the waters of the Bay or your trip may be a once in a lifetime experience. The care and concern exhibited by the crews of Virginia Beach fishing charter boats make each trip uniquely enjoyable. Not only is there the possibility of bringing home record fish, but you can enjoy the ocean trip coming and going to the fishing area. - 31512

Make Your Old Seadoo Look Great With A Fancy Seadoo Cover

By John A Moore

Seadoo PWC covers are almost never discussed amongst the most serious racers. But that is not to say they aren't important amongst the most serious racers. Each serious athlete seems to think their seadoo pwc cover is an extension of the machine which is an extension of them. A sleek cover means they are a sleek rider. However, no one admits to thinking this way. Most riders are keen to get on the water to demonstrate their skills but none would show up with a shabby or worn out seadoo cover. Earlier this year I sent out an email to competitors telling them I was looking for content for my blog on seadoo covers. As a lark, one of the competitors suggested having a seadoo cover beauty pageant after Saturday's races. The rest is history.

I know for a fact that a lot of money is spent annually on seadoo covers. Seadoo covers make the first statement about the machine and the athlete. A sleek cover says that the rider takes this sport seriously. It says "I keep my machine and body in good shape and this race is important to me. Everybody knows this but it is rarely said. Riders will tell you that they prefer to make their statements on the water. While denying their interest in seadoo pwc covers, some riders show up with new covers year after year.

During the Saturday morning races no one mentioned anything to me about the cover contest. I suppose it seemed a bit flaky to some of the racers. After all, this was an athletic competition not a beauty contest. Not only was it an athletic competition in the ordinary sense but an athletic competition with the addition of expensive powerful machines. These types of events seemed in congruous with beauty contests.

After the races were over and the riders were relaxing I went to find the organizer to discuss how we might get people to sign up for the cover contest. The competitors were standing around in small groups getting reacquainted and discussing the waves. I overheard some small talk about the cover contest. I overheard some of the winners telling those less successful that maybe they had a chance in the cover beauty contest. In response, some riders were telling other riders that they had no hope in the cover contest. As the sun began to set, claims of having the coolest cover became more insistent. All of a sudden guys were rushing to their machines to dry them off and get them covered.

In the end, a guy from Wasaga Beach won the contest. He had a custom detailed cover with embroidered flames on each side. On the nose he had a graffiti style logo that combined the name of his machine with his own last name. The cover itself was a mid-blue with thick black stitching. Admittedly, it was a very nice cover and it was definitely top three in my opinion.

The seadoo cover contest was a lot of fun. I can see it being repeated at this competition year after year. Some of the competitors were taking about swapping covers with some of the international competitors at bigger events. This tournament has always been one of my favorites. As always, it was a lot of quality racing but this year it had the added twist of featuring custom designed seadoo pwc covers. - 31512
